Otherwise known as Demerit Points, are associated with your licensing and the status of your drivers license. Getting too many will have your license suspended or revoked. However, there is a common misunderstanding that this will not affect your insurance. 

This is absolutely untrue. Even accepting an administrative conviction such as failure to present vehicle ownership can have costly and devastating impacts to your future insurance premiums, especially for newer drivers. Do not get caught being misinformed, it will remain on your records for at least three (3) years.
